This is a great book for knowledge on the science of menu writing. From content to flow and placement of particular items. Anyone likely buying this book is doing it because of school and this would be one of the books I would not sell back at the end of the semester!

About the Author
Dr. Richard McLaughlin D.D.S. is one of the orthodontic industry’s foremost instructors on advanced treatment using the pre-adjusted appliance. He established his still-thriving orthodontic practice shortly after graduating from the orthodontics program at the University of Southern California. He continues to treat patients in his San Diego office, and maintains an international lecturing and teaching schedule. Dr. McLaughlin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a member of the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists and American Association of Orthodontists, and was recently honored with the American Board’s Dale B. Wade Award. He is the Southern California Component Director of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists, a clinical professor at USC’s department of Orthodontics, and an associate professor at St. Louis University, Department of Orthodontics. He has written more than 30 journal articles, and co-authored 4 textbooks.

About the Author
Born in Beijing in 1967, Cao Haimei is an instructor at the Art and Design College at Beijing University of Technology. She is also a member of the China Arts and Crafts Association, China Fashion Association, and China Female Artists Association. Starting at the age of nine, Cao studied gongbi (from the Chinese word for "meticulous") painting under Mr. Pan Jiezi, and was deeply influenced by Chinese traditional arts. After graduating from the College of Fine Arts at Capital Normal University, she continued her studies at the Graduate School of the Chinese National Academy of Arts. She also traveled to Bonn, Germany, to study visual design. With significant experience in creative design, Cao has lectured on Chinese knotting since 1993. She has also engaged in arts and design production as well as educational research.

Excellent guide to all of the basic Chinese knots from beginner to advanced

This is a great book that beautifully shows the many basic Chinese knots, from beginner to advanced. There are also a few combination knots and other techniques to enhance the knots. The steps to create each knot are clearly described with photos and text. Each knot is also shown as a finished ornament or jewelry, to give you ideas on how to use the knots. Some of the more complex knots are too difficult to produce just by hand and the steps are shown with pins on a board, but I've been using the Hana-Ami flower loom by Clover. For the best selection of different knotting cords, check out satincord.com, (their 3mm USA/rayon and China/nylon are my favorites). For those who are or become knotting enthusiasts, these basic knots will keep you busy for a long while and will prepare you for the most complex knotted designs This is perfect for the serious crafter!

First book I am compelled to read from start to end as a beginner

Most of the information in this book is very clear and direct to the point. Most of the other books are lengthy and puts me to sleep. This book is the first on Technical Analysis that I feel compelled to read to the end. It isn't the magic bullet as the author says but it will definitely set you on your journey much faster than the rest of the beginner books. Anyone looking for something intermediate or advanced probably can read more specialised books. My only gripes about this book is
1. The chapter on Fibonacci isn't as clearly explained as the rest. It has to deal with the complexity of Fibonacci but the diagrams could have more indicators to link with the text.
2. The diagrams on the kindle are all not in the right orientation. You have to turn your head to read them but the diagrams very clearly explain what they are teaching.

About the Author
ently holds the position of Clinical Nurse Specialist for Cardiac Services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Ms. Green previously was nursing education specialist at the Center for Clinical and Professional Development at RWJ Univ Hospital, Coordinator Cardiac Education at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy, NJ and CNS at the Center for Adult Congenital Heart Disease at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. She also worked as a staff nurse in Post-anesthesia and the Cardiac Care Unit at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, NJ. She is licensed and Board Certified APN, a certified CNS, and a Certified Adult Critical Care Nurse, as well as a member of Sigma Theta Tau (both for undergrad and grad studies). She co-authored a previous version of this text with Dr. Chiaramida for Lippincott, which published in 2003 and sold approximately 6,000 copies.

The title doesn't lie!

This book offers by far one of the clearest and most logical approaches to interpreting EKGs that I have come across. Rather than emphasizing rote memorization of pattern recognition, this book provides conceptual explanations and walks you through a process of reading an EKG chapter by chapter. The level of detail is perfect for medical students, residents, and anyone interested in getting a solid background on the subject. The book reads like a self-study course and workbook, and if you dedicate a weekend to looking it over, you will find that you can really interpret EKGs with confidence.

Great EKG content, poor Kindle book quality!

This is indeed a great EKG book, better than most books on the market. Concise illustrations are very clinical oriented. I'll recommend this book to any EKG learners.

The reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is that Kindle does not do a good job to clearly present the EKG strips. The resolution in ALL the EKG pictures in this Kindle version is TOO LOW. No matter how much you zoom in on your screen, you just can't measure PR interval or QT interval confidently. I have to give up a lot of quizzes in the book b/c I simply can't see the tiny squares. I recommend Kindle provide 2 versions, lower resolution with smaller file, higher resolution with bigger file. Readers can decide which one they want to download. For novels, resolution is not an issue, but for some books like this, resolution matters!!!

Great EKG Book!

I've read a number of EKG interpretation books and, among them, this one is truly the best. The step-by-step approach is easy to understand, and the practice EKGs at the end of each chapter help to solidify the information learned. What I like most about the book is that the chapters are short and the explanations are concise. The author does a great job of incorporating just what you need to know in the context of clinical correlates. After reading this book, EKGs are no longer overwhelming and I can approach them with confidence. If you read this book, you will be sure not to miss a beat! It is definitely a must-have for medical students and residents.
